Volunteer

Volunteers are the backbone of the SCV Food Pantry

We welcome all volunteers, even if only for a few days or a few hours. It is our selfless volunteers that make it possible to operate the SCV Food Pantry and restore hope to those in need.

Typical Tasks Fulfilled by Volunteers

  • Food sorting

  • Truck driving

  • Truck unloading

  • Food organizing

  • Cleaning

  • Clerical assistance

Volunteers are invited to serve during the following times.

Monday - 8:00 am - 2:00 pm

Tuesday - 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Wednesday - 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Wednesday - 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Thursday - 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Friday - 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Saturday - 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Volunteer reservation Required

Reservations are required for all volunteer service at SCV Food Pantry. Your reservation can easily be made Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm by calling (661) 255-5001. Minors under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult during volunteer hours and should be at least 13 years of age.

if you are unable to volunteer the day of your reservation, please call us to cancel. This will allow us to notify waitlisted volunteers. Thank you!

Student Volunteers

If you are a student, the SCV Food Pantry can approve up to 10 community service/volunteer hours for students conducting a food drive in the student’s neighborhood or organization to which they belong.
